MEDIA RELEASE YORK REGIONAL POLICE ARRESTS AT RICHMOND HILL MASSAGE PARLOUR The York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau has arrested eight people in connection with the operation of an illegal massage parlour in the Town of Richmond Hill. As part of the ongoing commitment to eliminate illegal body rub parlours in York Region, the Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau executed a Criminal Code search warrant on Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Invisible Touch Spa, located at 10 East Wilmot Street. CHARGED: CHARGES: • Trevor BUTLER, 40 years, of Cedar Valley • Owner of a Common Bawdy House • Found in a Common Bawdy House • Candace HARMER, 23 years, of Toronto • Inmate in a Common Bawdy House • Possession of a Controlled Substance • Melissa PADDON, 27 years, of Mississauga • Diana RICCIARDI, 24 years, of Vaughan • Aniko SZABO, 20 years, of Toronto • Inmate in a Common Bawdy House • Michael DROSSOS, 37 years, of Scarborough • Marco LUCCISANO, 34 years, of Toronto • Michael ARMSTRONG, 28 years, of Markham • Found in a Common Bawdy House The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on December 8, 2005. York Regional Police Chief Armand La Barge said taking action against owners of body rub parlours operating illegally remains a priority. "York residents are concerned about this type of activity in their communities and I can assure them our Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau is committed to the eradication of unregulated body rub and adult entertainment parlours across our region," Chief La Barge said. Members of the public who frequent these establishments are reminded that they will be charged if criminal activity is found to be taking place while they are on site, or they may be required to attend court as a witness to give evidence in a criminal trial proceeding.
